Brewton area residents have a new choice when making retail purchases with the opening of the newest Hudson's Dirt Cheap location.
The store opened Thursday morning with more than 60 shoppers waiting for the doors to open for the first time. The Mississippi-based company opened its seventh Dirt Cheap store in a portion of the former Kmart building on Douglas Avenue in Brewton.
The opening came quickly for workers, shoppers and management officials Burch said.
Billy Pitts of Brewton will be serving as the store's manager, Burch said.
The Hudson's company has had the Brewton Dirt Cheap location in the works since February, Pitts said.
The store carries a wide variety of merchandise including clothes and shoes for the entire family as well as electronics, furniture, home decorations, toys, accessories, linens, bedding pillows and more.
The store hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
