Mr. Charlie Bradley Jr., 61, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007. He was a native of Brewton and a resident of Queens, N.Y., before returning to Brewton. He was a graduate of Southern Normal High School, Tyler Barber College in Memphis, Tenn., and Queensboro Community College. He was a machinist in the aerospace industry for more than 20 years and owned the Barber Shop Mall Inc. in East Brewton. He retired from the New York Transit as a mechanical engineer. He was a member of Second St. John Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret A. Bradley of Brewton; one son, Charles Terence Bradley of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Kwana Mckiesha Bradley; his mother, Fannie L. Bradley of Brewton; seven aunts, Luverne Murphy and Mattie Maddix, both of Detroit, Mich., Jannie Avant, Minnie (Willie) Wilson and Allie Snowden Moody, all of Brewton, Inez Culliver of Sacramento, Calif., and Emma Bradley of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two special aunts, Mary Gordon of Nashville, Tenn. and Voncille Nettles of Brewton; one uncle, John (Dorothy) German; a second mother, Ruby Washington of Brewton; a mother-in-law, Velma Breland of Huntington, N.Y.; a second father, Milton Breland of Huntington; a father-in-law, Joseph Washington Sr. of Brewton; five sisters-in-law, Sonya Breland of Hollywood, Fla., Tamara (Richard) Leach of Brewton, Lisa Breland of Washington, D.C., Debra Breland (Harvey) Marrow of Amityville, N.Y., Joann Hilton of Bayone, N.J.; three special sisters, Diane Bradley of Brewton, Carolyn Preyer of Hattisburg, Miss., and Dr. Virginia (Mel) Hardy of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five special brother, Alvin (Teresa) Preyer and Donald (Marilyn( Preyer, both of Jamaica, N.Y., William Preyer and James Gregory Washington, both of Brewton, and Joseph (Joy) Washington of Villa Rica, Ga.; a special nephew, Travis (Stacey) Bradley of Sacramento, Calif.; two special nieces, Patricia Bradley of Los Angeles, Calif. and Danielle Bradley of Montgomery; and many other friends and family members.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 14, at Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. S.C. Tucker officiating. Burial followed at Springhill Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
