The Mad Hatter is coming to town and he's throwing a tea party at the Brewton Country Club. The event is planned for Saturday, Jan. 12, beginning at 2 p.m. as a fundraiser and membership drive for the Brewton Community Theatre group.
The Mad Hatter's Tea Party is a scene from the next planned production of BCT, Dixon said.
The performances of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland are planned for Jan. 25, 26 and 27, Dixon said.
The fundraising tea party will hopefully create funds that will allow the group to pursue productions including musicals in the future.
The cost to attend the Mad Hatter's Tea Party will be $12 per person, Dixon said.
Admission will also allow children to have their picture taken with characters from the play.
Reservations for the tea party are required, Dixon said.
The tea party is being held just two weeks prior to opening night of the BCT production of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Dixon said.
“The show will be presented on Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m.,” Dixon said. “We are even planning a Sunday afternoon matinee Jan. 27 beginning at 2 p.m.”
