Thursday afternoon's first game of the year for the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team could be compared to Christmas day with no presents.
You have all of the excitement leading up to the big day and you get nothing good or nothing you really wanted.
Thursday's game was about that as JDCC lost their first two games to Central Alabama by scores of 6-1 in game one and 8-0 in game two.
JDCC was outscored 14-1 in the two games and only had 12 hits total with six in each game.
In the first game, the Lady Trojans pitching held the Lady Warhawks at bay until the bottom of the fifth inning when a single by Brittany Cahoon scored Tiffany Cayson for the Lady Warhawks lone run.
In game two, Jerri Edwards and Ashleigh Allgood had two hits each to lead JDCC as they fell 8-0 to the Lady Trojans of Central Alabama.
JDCC was scheduled to compete in the Wallace State tournament over the weekend in Dothan. JDCC will be back in action at home on Saturday, Feb. 16, when they take on LSU-Eunice. Game time is scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m.
