Mrs. Brenda Lorene Van Hoosen Cain, 53, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at her residence. She was a native of Brewton, but had spent most of her lifetime in Century. She was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith. She was preceded in death by her father, Houston Van Hoosen; and her brother, Jerry Boutwell.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Bondurant of Flomaton; two sons, Christopher (Terresa) Van Hoosen of Milton, Fla. and Richard A. Van Hoosen of Flomaton; a daughter, Amy M. Cain of Eupora, Miss.; three brothers, Bill (Donna) Van Hoosen and David (Terrie) Van Hoosen, both of Milton, and Harold Van Hoosen of Pensacola; three sisters, Linda L. Wilson of Milton, Fla., Glenda Knowles of Flomaton and Edith Beason of Dallas, Texas; nine grandchildren; a special friend, Fran Utnage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Macks officiating. Burial followed at Traveler's Rest Cemetery in Flomaton with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Jimmy Van Hoosen, Tony Parker, Davon Van Hoosen, Jeffery Hagen, Steven Hagen, Allen Crapps, Randy Doggette and Roger Carpenter.
