Mrs. Emma Odell Philyaw, 62, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008 in Brewton. She was a native and life long resident of Conecuh County. She was a homemaker and attended New Haven Holiness Church.
She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Philyaw of Repton; one son, James Edward Philyaw of Repton; two stepsons, J.W. Philyaw of Repton and William (Every) Philyaw of Century, Fla.; one daughter, Mary Jane Sullivan; a brother, Bernard (Betty) Coleman of Castleberry; three sisters, Julia (John) Bartlett of Repton; Cathy (Ed) McDonald of Castleberry, and Mary (Tommy) Burch of Range; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 1, at 2 p.m. at New Haven Holiness Church with the Rev. Earl Burch and the Rev. Randy Steadman officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Atmore with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
