A local man on probation from a Georgia prison broke into an ex-girlfriend's house and raped her last week, sheriff's officials said.
Carl McMillan, 31, of North East Street in Brewton was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree burglary and first-degree kidnapping.
Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of invasion and forcible rape at an address off Kirkland Road.
The victim told deputies McMillan had entered her residence, armed with a knife, and held her against her will and sexually assaulted her.
The victim was transported to D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released.
Escambia County sheriff's deputies made the arrest and transported McMillan to the Escambia County Detention Center where he remains under a $100,000 bond.
According to authorities, McMillan was currently on probation from a Georgia correctional facility.
Lee Hall, a probation and parole officer with the Alabama Board of Probation and Parole said much the same.
According to Saturday's Mobile Press-Register, officers said McMillan threatened the ex-girlfriend from jail last week, using a contraband cell phone while he was being held on the rape and kidnapping charges. A search of the jail turned up three cell phones which were confiscated.
Authorities said the ex-girlfriend had reported McMillan for domestic violence in the past.
