Mrs. Joanna Deer Jones, 78, died Friday, March 7, 2008. She was a native of Greenville and a resident of Brewton. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She attended college at Virginia Intermont and Auburn University where she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Frank Earl Jones; three daughters, Anna Ashley, Jones Slaton, Joanna Deer Jones Nichol, and Sarah Curtis Jones Livingston; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Marlowe Wright, Caroline McKenzie Livingston, Edward Rippetoe Livingston, Austin Frazier Nichol; and a great-grandson, Carson Daniel Wright.
Graveside services were held at Union Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
Memorials may be made to either the Brewton Public Library or the First United Methodist Church of Brewton.
