Mr. James “Jimmy” McArthur Jr., 52, died Sunday, March 30, 2008 in Monroeville. He was a native of East Brewton and has resided in Monroe County for the past 30 years. He played football for Bear Bryant from 1973-1976 at the University of Alabama.
He is survived by his wife, Laura McArthur of Mexia; two daughters, Brooke McArthur (Charlie) Waters of Excel, and Amber Nicole McArthur of Mexia; and three sisters, Charmaine Jackson, Rosemarie McArthur and Elizabeth McArthur, all of Brewton.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 2, at 2 p.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Leys and the Rev. Wayne McMillan officiating. Burial followed at Old Salem Cemetery with Monroe Chapel Funeral Home directing.
