Mrs. Everline Kent Jernigan, 60, died Monday, April 14, 2008, at her residence on Old Castleberry Road after an extended illness. She was a native and life-long resident of Brewton. She was a member of Victory Christian Center and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her father, David Kent; her mother, Bessie Kent Cooper; a son, Joseph Jernigan; two brothers, David Kent Jr. and Edward Kent; and two sisters, Doris Trea and Barbara Elliott.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Jernigan of Brewton; two sons, James (Karen) Jernigan of Milton, Fla., and David (Crystal) Jernigan of Brewton; one daughter, Melissa (Steve) Smith of Brewton; eight grandchildren, Andrew, Ashley, Autum, Austin, Harmony, Walker, Jordan and Hana.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 16, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Andy Peevy and the Rev. Clyde Madden officiating. Burial will follow at New Hopewell Cemetery in Castleberry, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
