Mrs. Alice L. Smith, 89, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the home of her daughter. She was a native of Conecuh County and attended school at Jefferson Davis Junior College. She was a member of First Marietta Missionary Baptist Church. She was a retired cook from Westgate Village. She was a member of Jackson Chapter 630 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Home Union and the Charitable Aid Association.
She is survived by her daughter, Creola Bonom of Brewton; a brother, Charlie Johnson of Evergreen; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 19, at 2 p.m. at First Marietta Missionary Baptist Church in Brewton with the Rev. Eddie Stallworth officiating. Burial followed at First Marietta Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Atmore directing.
