Although the City of Brewton will be paying more for rubbish pick-up inside the city limits, that cost won't be passed on to residents - yet.
The cost increase came at the request of RMCC, a contractor with the city responsible for picking up rubbish and bulky waste inside the city limits. A contract signed between the contractor and city officials last fall left the possibility of a rate increase open.
The cost for rubbish pickup by RMCC costs about $5.15 per household with the increase approved Monday being absorbed by the City of Brewton.
