Mr. Edward McMillan, 32, died recently. He was a native and resident of Brewton. He was a member of Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church and had attended T.R. Miller High School. He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Jean McMillan; his step-mother, Bertha Ruth Smith; and his grandmothers, Maggie Mae Rivers and Lula Nobles.
He is survived by his daughter, LaQushia McMillan (Drakeford) of Brewton; three sons, Carl Farrish of Brewton, Allen Boyd of Fort Walton, Fla., and Monterio McMillan of Clarkton, Ga.; his father, Carl Allen Smith Sr. of Brewton; his sisters, Lanise (Michael) Smith, Jenny (Herman) Farrish, Loretha (Gary) Matthews, Regina (Jesse) Smith and Rena McMillan Travis, all of Brewton; his brothers, Emmanuel Lane, Carl Smith Jr., and Charles Smith, all of Brewton, and George Williams of Pensacola, Fla.; an uncle, James (Sharon) Montgomery of Brooksville, Fla.; aunts, Bertha (David) Union, Celesta Motton, and Gladis Motton; a special friend, Danielle Benjamin; an ex-wife, Qualamina Drakeford; a sister-in-law, Evette D. Gray of Brewton, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 23, at 11 a.m. at Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie J. Blue officiating and Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
