Mrs. Sarah Mae Purvis, 79, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at a Santa Rosa County hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Century. She was retired from the Escambia County Health Department with 39 years of sevice. She attended the Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Purvis.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Diane (Jimmy) Johnson and Danette P. (Buddy) Morris, both of Flomaton; a brother, James Powell of Decatur, Ala.;six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 1, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Keese officiating. Burial followed at McCurdy Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
