The Greater Brewton YMCA's pool is getting a workout this spring as a local swim team holds practice and plans for upcoming swim meets.
Angel Boyd, who coaches the team along with assistant April Brown, is very excited about the potential of the students.
Boyd said other members of the team are also showing great promise with their swimming abilities.
The Brewton Local Area Swim Team is better known in swimming events as the B.L.A.S.T. Tigersharks, Boyd said.
The team has about 28 members participating so far this year, Boyd said.
The team will compete in four meets during June, five in July and the Summer Championship meet.
Members of the B.L.A.S.T. team are Allie Nelson, Amber Nelson, Karisa Nelson, Brandon Nelson, Katie Nelson, Abigail Carlson, Travis Carlson, Shelby Youngblood, Geoffrey Youngblood, Anna Brown, Auburn Howell, Adrian Howell, Brittany Riffe, Kierstyn Elder, Kobe Godwin, Tucker Davenport, Gage Parker, Christopher Guthrie, Taylor Guthrie, Aidyn Brewer, Lauren Smith, Taylor Terry, Amber Taylor, Sam Terry, Noah Winton, Roy Brown, Jackson Deathridge and Lauren Gerety.
