Mr. Allen L. Dortch, 52, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at a Pensacola hospital after an extended illness. He was a resident of Atmore, and a former resident of Century, Fla. He was a graduate of Century High School and a member of Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church in the Freemanville community near Atmore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Jennie V. Dortch and a son, Allen L. Dortch Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Linda M. Dortch of Atmore; four daughters, Lakisha (Kordell) Lawson and Porsha Ellis, both of Brewton, Shelita Dortch of Tacoma, Wash., and Tamlyn Dortch of Flomaton; one son, Antonio Sanders of Texas; six sisters, Dorothy M. Newton, Thelma Dortch, and Shelia Dortch all of Century, Clarissa (Peter) Burt of Flomaton, Karen L. (Steve) Evans of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Annie (Warren) Gilmore of Milton, Fla.; one brother, Ezell Dortch of Century; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at the Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church with Dr. Van McPherson officiating. Burial followed at the Century Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home directing.
