Mrs. Willia Jean Culliver, 72, died June 30, 2008. She was a native of Brewton and a former resident of Hopkinsville, Ken., and of Montgomery before returning to Brewton. She was a graduate of Southern Normal and of Alabama State College. She worked in the school system for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Culliver; a son, Darryl Ray Culliver; her parents, Harvey and Mattie Jasper and several close friends.
She is survived by three children, Keith Fitzgerald Culliver, Patricia Anne (Issac) Culliver of Brewton, and Roderick L'Wayne Culliver of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jasmine Nicole, Michael Antonio, Sydney Alexis, Kimberly Alexandria and Alexx Danyella; her siblings, Richard L. (Lillian) Jasper of Tacoma, Wash., Milliarstine (James) Coleman of Sawyerville, Harvey (Nancy) Jasper Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz., Mattie L. (James) Stallworth of Cincinnati, and Ruby Dell Jasper of Grove Hill; and many other friends and family.
Funeral services were held July 1, at 11 a.m. at Baptist Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Eric T. Andrews and the Rev. S.C. Tucker officiating. Burial followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery with Presley-Fluker directing.
