Mr. John Phillip Sousa Strain, 79, died Saturday, June 7, 2008. He was a native of Brewton and a graduate of T. R. Miller. He was a resident of Strawberry Hills and a former resident of Falls Church, Va. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked for many years at the Pentagon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Marie Strain.
He is survived by his children, Michael Kay, Ann Marie, John Joseph, James Phillip, Steven Francis and Robert Christopher Strain; his sister, Barbara Kay Carden of Brewton; a brother, Almon Gage Strain of Brandon, Miss.; and 13 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, July 30, at 2:45 p.m. at Fort Myer old Post Chapel, Fort Myer, Va. Burial procession will begin at 1:25 p.m. from the Murphy Falls Church Funeral Home in Falls Church and burial will be held at Arlington
