Hurricane Ike, which pounded Cuba earlier this week, looks to be headed to Texas, with no threat to the gulf coast of Alabama.
But Escambia County Emergency Management Director David Adams said he still wants residents to be aware of the storm.
As of Tuesday afternoon, no other storms were in the Atlantic, Adams said.
