Mrs. Inez Gunter Northrop, 94, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008 in Andalusia. She was a native of Covington County and a resident of Flomaton for 72 years. She attended Flomaton First Baptist Church and was a self-employed beautician. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde M. Northrop Jr.; and a son, John Thomas Northrop.
She is survived by two sons, Clyde (Patricia) Northrop III of Andalusia and Kenneth Gunter (Saranne) Northrop of Jasper; a daughter, Susan (Joe) McMath of Flomaton; a sister, Elgie Lee Mason of Luverne; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. at Flomaton First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Keese officiating. Burial will follow at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Jonathan McMath, Joey McMath, Jeremy McMath, Josh Northrop, Lee Nichols, Ken Northrop, Mac Northrop and Shawn Hennessey.
