BMS football continues to win, now 3-2

The Brewton Middle School Tiger football picked up its third straight win and improved to 3-2 on the season with a 12-6 win over Escambia County after starting the season with an 0-2.
Jamal Spears had both touchdowns for the Tigers, a 47-yard run and a 3-yard run to give Brewton the win. Spears had 66 yards on 17 carries.
Spears got the Tigers on the board first with the 47-yard run to give Brewton a 6-0 lead with 6:18 left in the first quarter.
Atmore tied the game at 6-6 with 4:44 left in the second quarter to put the game at a 6-6 tie at the half.
In the third quarter, Spears scored from three yards out to put Brewton up 12-6 and neither team scored in the fourth quarter as Brewton claimed the 12-6.
The Brewton Middle School Tigers will be back in action on Thursday when they take on Monroe County this week in Monroeville at 6 p.m. The BMS Tigers will be off the next week.
The Tigers will conclude their 2008 schedule at home the next week against rival W.S. Neal on October 23.
The game will be a tune-up for the varisty Battle of Murder Creek the next week.
On a different note, in last week's win for the Brewton Middle School team, Dominique Jackson had the fumble recovery last week in 7th grade win. The game story reported a wrong name last week.
