The sale of property to be used as the site for a new Brewton Middle School complex was officially approved and finalized by the Brewton City Council Tuesday during a regular meeting of the group.
Following the presentation of the required ordinance, the sale of the property was unanimously approved by the council.
Also at Tuesday's meeting, the council heard from city planning commissioner Steve Yuhasz concerning the City of Brewton Comprehensive Plan to Excel.
Yuhasz said the plan will be used to help move the city forward over the next three to five year period.
Jennings said the approval of the plan is a step toward the city's upcoming recertification.
