WSN volleyball advances to regionals

After going 1-2 in the Escambia County tournament last weekend, the W.S. Neal Lady Eagle volleyball team claimed a win over B.C. Rain to advance to the next round of competition before falling to UMS-Wright.
The Lady Eagles are now 8-12 on the season and competed in the regionals at St. James on Saturday.
In the country tournament, W.S. Neal started the tournament with a 2-0 win over Atmore, before falling 0-2 to T.R. Miller. W.S. Neal then took game one from Flomaton before losing the next two and falling to the Lady Canes 2-1.
In the area tournament for the Lady Eagles against B.C. Rain, the Lady Eagles won 3-1 before falling to UMS 3-0.
WSN 2, ECHS 0
In game one, W.S. Neal won 25-18. Megan Pence led with seven service points and Casey Wilson had five service points.
In game two, W.S. Neal won 25-21. Brandi Deese had six service points and Casey Wilson had seven service points.
Other stats saw Caitlyn Blackman with 10 kills and five digs, Casey Wilson with 12 kills and three blocks and Amanda Crawford with seven kills and six digs.
T.R. Miller 2, W.S. Neal 0
Against the Lady Tigers in game one, W.S. Neal fell 25-14. Sydney Andrews had four service points in the loss.
In game two, W.S. Neal lost by two at 25-23. Brittany Revel led with seven service points and Sydney Andrews had six service points. Caitlyn Blackman had five service points.
In other stats, Casey Wilson had 12 kills and two blocks. Blackman had 10 kills and five digs. Amanda Crawford had five kills and six digs.
“We started out very slow in the first game giving up a lot of service points to Miller,” Shelly said. “In game two we picked up the pace a little and worked. We played well but had a few mental errors that cost us the game.”
Flomaton 2, W.S. Neal 1
In game one against Flomaton, the Lady Eagles won 25-19.
Brandi Deese led with eight service points and Brittany Revel had six service points.
In game two, W.S. Neal fell 25-12. Sydney Andrews had four service points in the game to lead.
In game three, W.S. Neal fell 15-11. Caitlyn Blackman led with six service points.
In other stats, Casey Wilson had 15 kills, Amanda Crawford had 10 kills, Caitlyn Blackman led with eight kills, and Megan Pence had 12 digs.
Area Tournament WSN 3,
B.C. Rain 1
In game one at the area tournament, W.S. Neal defeated B.C. Rain 25-15.
Brandi Deese led with 11 service points in the win.
In game two, W.S. Neal won 25-23. Malary Booker led with eight service points and Sydney Andrews had five service points.
In game three, B.C. Rain claimed a 25-17 win over the Lady Eagles.
Caitlyn Blackman led with six service points in the loss.
In game four, W.S. Neal won 25-17.
Caitlyn Blackman led with eight service points.
UMS 3, WSN 0
After the win over B.C. Rain, W.S. Neal advanced to play UMS-Wright where they were swept 3-0.
In game one, W.S. Neal lost 25-12. Sydney Andrews had three service points in the game one loss.
In game two, W.S. Neal fell 25-12. Amanda Crawford led with three service points.
In game three, W.S. Neal lost 25-7.
Sydney Andrews led with three service points in the loss.
