Castleberry
Mr. Aubrey L. Salter, 81, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native of Conecuh County and resided in Castleberry. He was retired from the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by George and Belle Salter and Annie Lou Salter; four sisters, Linnie Mae Langham, Lolleen Joyner, Lillian Langham and Jennie Pearl Taylor; and one brother, Buck Salter.
He is survived by two daughters, Katherine (Chuck) Williams of Zachary, La., and Ronda Lee Salter (Michael Burt) of Castleberry; three brothers, Don Salter and George Salter, both of Castleberry and Carl Salter of Prattville; three sisters, Francis Curtman and Betty Von Oliver, both of Castleberry and Shirley Tippett of LaPort, Iowa; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Cope Funeral Home of Evergreen. Burial followed at Buffington Cemetery in Castleberry with Cope Funeral Home directing.
