The 2008 presidential campaign is coming to a close, and the polls will be opening across the United States in just two days.
Men and women of every religion, ethnic background and socio-economic background will be on a level playing field as they cast their ballot for the leader of the free world.
This historic election year has earned that title for several reasons. This will be the closest an African-American has come to being president of the United States.
This is also only the second time in history that a woman has had a shot at the No. 2 position in the nation's government.
This election year has already made history with astronomical numbers of new voters registering for the right and privilege to vote.
No matter what your political preferences are, we can't imagine anyone not wanting to take advantage of being part of a history-making event.
When history books are printed after the 2008 presidential election is over, there will be new facts, figures and ideas printed for generations of students to study in the next couple of hundred years throughout American schools. Even students in other countries will read of the changes that took place as a result of the 2008 presidential election.
As you go to the polls Tuesday to cast your vote, don't forget that the right you have this day to complete a ballot was afforded to you through the blood, sweat and tears of hundreds of thousands of Americans in our history books.
We encourage everyone to exercise their right to vote on Tuesday. No one should miss this opportunity - historic or not - because this is your chance for your voice to be heard.
