Mrs. Mary Lou Fischer Lay Brueland, 84, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at her residence.
She was a native of San Antonio, Texas, a resident of Brewton for many years, and a resident of Westminster for several years. She was an accountant with Lay Gas Company in Brewton and was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Lay.
She is survived by her husband, Lowell Brueland; two daughters, Barbara Henderson of Crestview, Fla., and Jo Anna (Carson) Rich of Leesburg, Va.; a stepdaughter, Cindy Brueland of Grand Prairie, Texas; two stepsons, Ray (Ann) Brueland of Westminster, and Kipper (Sandy) Brueland of Hawaii; nine grandchildren, Jessica and Anna Rich, Kevin Brueland, John Brueland, Chris Brueland, Richard Brueland, AnJanae Brueland, Heather Brueland and Markie Brueland; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, JoAnn Comer of San Antonio.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. at Union Cemetery with Father Adrian Cook officiating and Acree-Davis Funeral Home directing.
