Mrs. Lola Ernestine Brown, 74, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at a Gainesville, Fla. hospital.
She was a native of Cantonment, Fla., and a lifelong resident of Century. She attended the Union Primitive Baptist Church in Walnut Hill, Fla. During her working years, she was manager of the Dollar General Store in Century.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Van D. Brown Jr.; their son, Eugene Brown; a daughter, Berenda Caraway; and a granddaughter, Callista White.
She is survived by her daughters, Belinda A. (Steven) Gunn of Byrneville, Fla., and Shelia White of Bay Minette; four brothers, H. T. Emmons and Freddy (Francine) Emmons, both of Fellsmere, Fla., Roy (Angie) Emmons of Thomasville, Ga., and Robert (Rosemary) Emmons of St. Cloud, Fla.; one sister, Sharon Emmons of Williston, Fla.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Harold Brown officiating. Burial followed at Little Flock Cemetery in Molino, Fla., with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers were Gary Gunn, Shad White, Kyle White, Darel White, Mike Johnson, and Steven Brown. Honorary pallbearers were Gerald Brown and Dale Townson.
