After sorting through more than 150 provisional ballots from the Nov. 4 election. Probate Judge Emilie Mims said Escambia County School Board incumbent Michael Goolsby received enough votes to get him in the win column.
Goolsby led challenger Lawton Shipp by 12 votes at the end of ballot counting Nov. 4. Provisional ballots were not counted, as required by law, until Wednesday.
Of the 170 provisional ballots cast, 24 were certified with 22 making the final cut. The tabulation found Goolsby adding two votes to his total with Shipp receiving one additional vote.
Unless challenged, Goolsby's re-election will be certified Friday by officials.
