A visit from Santa, a scavenger hunt and special sales are among the ways downtown Brewton stores are luring shoppers to get their Christmas shopoping done early this year.
Businesses on the Boardwalk and on the Boulevard will host a holiday kickoff sale Thursday.
In addition to specials and sales at area merchants, the holiday kickoff will also offer a variety of entertainment and food vendors.
And some lucky - and smart - shoppers have an opportunity to win a scavenger hunt hosted by businesses on the Boardwalk and on the Boulevard.
At each participating business, customers will receive a clue with their purchase.
Each clue gives customers an idea of the location of the prize - so the more purchases you make, the closer you will get to figuring it out.
The prize will be located inside one of the participating businesses - and the prize is sure to help make holiday shopping even easier. Each participating business has contributed a $25 gift certificate to the prize.
Students from the Brewton Escambia Career Technical Center can provide baby-sitting for children pre-school to fourth-grade at the Ritz. The cost is $10, and children will be supervised by the students and will listen to a story from Mrs. Claus.
Anyone interested can call Betty Clark to make reservations at 867-7829. Reservations are limited to the first 60 children to sign up.
Entertainment on the Boardwalk includes:
