Mr. Aaron Paul Sr., 94, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2008. He was a native of Ponce De Leon, Fla. and a resident of Brewton for most of his life. He had worked with the turpentine industry early in his life and with L &N Railroad for 35 years before his retirement in 1979. He was a member of Spiritual True Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by five of his children, Bettye Jean, Robert James, Lenzie Simon, Aaron Jr. and Annie Lois; and his siblings, Claude, Enoch and Orlando.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Annie Laura Paul; two daughters, Rose M. (A.J.) Evans of Brooklyn, N.Y. and E. Michelle (Kenneth Sr) Jimmerson of Montgomery; three sons, Sammie L. (Pearlie) Paul of Theodore, Wiley A. (Ernestine) Paul of St. Peter's, Mo., and Wayne G. (Verlinda) Paul of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Robert Paul of Brewton; two sisters, Alfretta Smith of Hempstead, N.Y. and Marie Jones of Detroit, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Louise Paul of Brewton; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. at Presley-Fluker Funeral Home with Bishop Michael Evans Sr. officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
