Well, this week is an important week for people in the state of Alabama.
No it's not beacuse it is Thanksgiving on Thursday, it's because this week is Iron Bowl in the state of Alabama.
Alabama comes into this year's Iron Bowl with an 11-0 record and ranked No. 1 and having already clinched the SEC's Western Division and will play Florida the Saturday after the Iron Bowl in the SEC Championship game. Auburn comes into Saturday's game after having high expections for this season and predicted to win the SEC West with a 5-6 record.
If Auburn can beat the Crimson Tide, they have a chance to become bowl elgible and add to their current win streak e and make it seven straight over the Tide and keep them winless at home at Bryant Denny in Tuscaloosa.
What more could Auburn fans want out of this game Saturday to beat Alabama and ruin their chances at a perfect season and possibly a national championship?
Since 1893, the Crimson Tide and Tigers have played 72 times. Alabama leads the all-time series, with 38 wins to Auburn's 33, with one tie. The game has been played in four cities: Auburn, Birmingham, Montgomery, and Tuscaloosa.
Alabama leads the series in Birmingham (34-18-1). Auburn leads the series in Tuscaloosa (6-0-0) and Auburn (7-2-0). The series is tied in Montgomery (2-2-0).
On a differnt note, I hope all do have a great Thanksgiving and until we meet here or out in the world of sports, God bless.
