Teens held in bomb case

Three Brewton juveniles have been arrested in connection with explosions heard in the North Pine Street area Nov. 22.
Brewton Police Chief Monte McGougain said three T.R. Miller High School students were arrested in the case.
Brewton Police Detective Sgt. Eric Suarez, who conducted the investigation, said the three juveniles were arrested and charged with criminal possession of explosives as a result an investigation by officers with the department.
Officers responded to a call of a loud noise that sounded like a bomb on Nov. 22 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Suarez said.
Officers later spotted a vehicle fitting the description given by witnesses, Suarez said.
Officers questioned three juveniles in the vehicle regarding the incident.
Suarez said the public is valuable to police when crimes are committed.
All three juveniles were arrested and were turned over to the local juvenile probation officer.
A hearing will be held to determine the outcome in this case, Suarez said.
The names of the juveniles were not released due to their age.
