WSN B team Eagles beat TRM

The W.S. Neal Eagle B team scored 20 points in the second quarter and staved off a furious fourth quarter rally from the T.R. Miller B team to defeat the Tigers 46-37 Friday night at home.
The win improved the W.S. Neal B team to 6-1 while the T.R. Miller B team remained winless on the season at 0-3.
W.S. Neal held an 8-4 lead after the first quarter of play and then scored 20 points in the second quarter. They held T.R. Miller to only eight points to extend the lead to 28-12 at the half.
In the third quarter, W.S. Neal held a 9-6 advantage in the quarter to extend their lead to 37-18.
In the fourth quarter, T.R. Miller scored 19 points to the Eagles' nine points but the Eagles won 46-37.
Ashton Elliott led W.S. Neal with 11 points in the win. Colby McCorvey followed with nine points and DeAndre McCaster finished with seven.
For T.R. Miller, Antonio Payne led with 15 points and Kori Jackson had eight in the loss.
W.S. Neal jumped out to a 6-0 lead early in the game and held T.R. Miller scoreless in the quarter until the 1:58 mark when Payne put the Tigers on the board and cut the lead to 6-2.
Donnivan Millican put W.S. Neal up 8 at the 56-second mark in the quarter. Devonte Jones added a late basket for T.R. Miller to cut the Eagle led to 8-4 at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, W.S. Neal had a 10-6 lead and a 18-12 lead before going on a 10-0 run to end the quarter with a 28-12 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, W.S. Neal extended their run to 15-0 to hold a 33-12 lead with 3:41 left in the quarter, but Jackson had all of the Tigers six points in the third quarter as W.S. Neal held a 37-18 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Tigers used a 6-0 run to cut the Eagle lead from 37-21 to 43-33 with 54 seconds left in the game.
The Tigers twice cut the Eagle lead to 10 points, but W.S. Neal held on for the nine-point win, 46-37.
In games earlier in the week, the W.S. Neal Eagle B team improved to 5-1 with wins over Excel and Northview on the road.
The B team Eagles defeated Excel 43-34 and Northview 35-34.
W.S. Neal will be back in action on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at home against Northview.

Excel 34
After only leading by two at the half, 20-18, the W.S. Neal B team Eagles outscored Excel 10-4 in the third quarter en route to a 43-34 win to improve to 4-1 on the season.
Ashton Elliott scored 12 points to lead W.S. Neal in the win. Monterius Culliver scored 11 in the win and Colby McCorvey added 10 in the win.
Tra Dixon finished with nine points and Donnivan Millican added one for the Eagles.
In the game against the Panthers, W.S. Neal outscored Excel 12-10 to claim a two-point lead after the first quarter.
In the second quarter, both teams scored eight points to give W.S. Neal the 20-18 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, the Eagles outscored Excel 10-4 to take a 30-22 lead into the final quarter of play.
In the fourth quarter, W.S. Neal held a one point scoring advantage in the quarter at 13-12 to claim the nine point win, 43-34.
W.S. Neal B team 35, Northview 34
The W.S. Neal B team scored 16 points in the fourth quarter to claim a 35-34 win over the Chiefs to improve to 5-1 this season.
Down 27-19 heading into the final quarter of play, W.S. Neal outscored Northview 16-7 in the final quarter to claim the win.
Elliott and McCorvey both led W.S. Neal with 11 points in the win. Culliver added seven in the win.
In the first quarter, Northview outscored W.S. Neal 16-8.
In the second quarter, both teams scored four points each and Northview led 20-12 at the half.
In the third quarter, the two teams both scored seven points as Northview carried a 27-19 lead into the final quarter of play.
In the final quarter, W.S. Neal outscored Northview by nine to claim the win.
