Ms. Gisela Gerta Schlicht-Minchew, 79, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at her daughter's home in Castleberry. She was a native of Stuttgart, Germany, and a long time resident of East Brewton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Minchew; a sister, Lieselotte Schlicht-Cushing of Fort Benning, Ga.; and a brother, Hans Schlicht of Stuttgart.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Rusty) Glass of Castleberry; four sons, Clayton (Janice) Minchew of Jefferson City, Tenn., and Mack Minchew, Ernest (Patricia) Minchew; and Jesse Minchew, all of East Brewton; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Pleasant Home Cemetery with Cope Funeral Home directing.
