Mrs. Martha Ann Thompson, 80, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at a local hospital. She was a native of Century, Fla., and a longtime resident of the Flomaton area. She was a homemaker and member of the Flomaton Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred D. Thompson.
She is survived by two sons, Clark (Judy) Thompson of Atmore, and Alfred Thompson of Century; a son/grandson, Gerry Thompson of Flomaton; three daughters, Martha (John) Sansom, Patricia Rico, and Eileen Thompson, all of Flomaton; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 4, at 2:30 p.m. at Flomaton Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Homer Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Donald Jordan, Darryl Fore, Mickey Sansom, Gary Bailey, Bubba Hammac, and Wayne Johnson.
