Mr. Roy James Neal, 69, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at a Pensacola, Fla., health care facility. He was a native of Greenville and a resident of Flomaton for 50 years. During his working years he was a truck driver, the most recent was for R.J. Stuckey Chevron Oil in Century, Fla. He attended Little Escambia Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nelda Neal of Flomaton; two sons, Waymon Neal of Flomaton and Jamie Neal of Pearl, Miss.; a sister, Bonnie Moye of Flomaton; three grandchildren, Emily (Matt) Pike of Pace, Fla., and Sarah and Olivia Neal, both of Flomaton; and a special family member, Wendy Neal.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. at Little Escambia Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Hogg and the Rev. Jerry Richie officiating. Burial followed at Little Escambia Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers were Terry Strength, Will Huskey, Tommy Allgood, Payton Williams, Bill Godwin and Ronnie Freeman. Honorary pallbearers were J.R. Bell, Leon Johnson, Joe Rowland, Carl Gandy, Dillard Bankston and Jim Stuckey.
