Mrs. Helen Sellers Smith, 52, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital. She was a native of Milton, Fla., and had lived most of her life in the Brewton area. She was a bus driver with the Escambia County Board of Education and was of the Holiness faith. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Sellers.
She is survived by her husband, Horace Smith of Brewton; two daughters, Daphny Gail (Jeffery) Thompson of Brewton, and Heather Pauline (Ryan) Bedsole of Jay, Fla.; a brother, Tommy Sellers of Brewton; six sisters, Shirley Watson of Sylvester, Ga., Barbara Phillips, Jewel Phillips, Mary Carroll and Marilyn Howard, all of Brewton, and Bonnie Phillips of Franklin, N.C.; three grandchildren, Aaliyah Bedsole, Alonna Bedsole, and Makayla Thompson.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 14, at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Ray Singleton officiating and Craver's Funeral Home directing.
