For many people, buying used merchandise is a way of life. For others, getting rid of unwanted used merchandise is a way to keep their homes clean.
Both groups now have an opportunity to fill their desires with the Habitat for Humanity of Escambia County's Home Restore.
O'Neil said those who want to donate may also have the items picked up for delivery to the store.
For those who need new furnishings, appliances and home repair items, finances can be stretched so that obtaining those items is nearly impossible. Through Restore, used items can be purchased at a fraction of the new item prices. The price paid for the items will be used to continue building homes for deserving families in Escambia County.
O'Neil said the project has been studied and evaluated for nearly a year.
O'Neil said just over 500 Restore outlets have been established nationwide and many have had great success.
The Home Restore will be opening in a location adjacent to the Goodwill store near Winn-Dixie.
O'Neil said other Restore locations will be helping out with merchandising at the Brewton store.
Habitat officials are searching for a manager to run the local Restore.
The Habitat for Humanity of Escambia County office can be reached at 867-0095. For donation pick up, donators may call 236-1477 or 867-0095.
Items accepted for the Home Restore include windows, doors, appliances, cabinets, lighting fixtures, plumbing items, sinks, counters, flooring, carpet, lumber, furniture, tables, chairs, bookcases, dressers, beds, lamps, home furnishing items.
