The City of Brewton has altered its landfill fee to make up for a new fee being charged to municipalities by the state of Alabama.
The state is now charging cities 25 cents per cubic yard of waste per quarter, City Clerk John Angel said.
A new fee schedule will impose an average $4.50 per cubic yard fee, with small pickups charged $8.75, full-size pickups charged $15 and single-axle trailers charged $15. Other vehicles will be charged more.
