Varsity Eagles split

The W.S. Neal varsity Eagle basketball team split their last two games to improve their record to 13-10.
The Eagles dropped a 75-29 loss to B.C. Rain Friday night in Mobile to fall to 12-10 overall and to 1-5 in area play.
After the 46-point loss to Rain, the Eagles responded with a 53-40 win over McKenzie Monday night in McKenzie to improve to 13-10 and end their three game losing streak.
The Eagles were set to be back in action Tuesday night when they traveled to Uriah to take on the J.U. Blacksher Bulldogs.
The Eagles will end their four-game road trip and return home on Friday when they take on the Flomaton Hurricanes. The Eagles will end their regular season at home on Monday, Feb. 2 when they take on Frisco City.
B.C. Rain 75, W.S. Neal 29
Trailing 34-18 at the half, the W.S. Neal Eagles were outscored 41-11 in the second half as they dropped a 53-40 decision to B.C. Rain in area play down in Mobile.
The loss ended the Eagles' regular season schedule. They finished with a 1-5 record.
B.C. Rain outscored the Eagles in all quarters including a 15-10 advantage in the first quarter, 19-8 in the second quarter, 26-8 in the third quarter and 15-3 in the fourth and final quarter.
Chris Payne led W.S. Neal with 10 points, and Jeremy Nicholson and Bob Elliott both had six.
Rashad Crook had five points in the loss, and Jeremy Alexander had two points.
W.S. Neal 53, McKenzie 40
The Eagles ended their three-game losing streak and improved to 13-10 with a 53-40 win over McKenzie Monday night.
The Eagles outscored McKenzie 12-4 in the first quarter and 18-16 in the second quarter to lead 30-20 at the half.
In the second half, the Eagles improved their lead to 44-28 with a 14-8 lead in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, McKenzie cut the lead to three points with a 12-9 scoring advantage, but W.S. Neal held on for the 13-point win.
Nicholson led W.S. Neal with 14 points and Crook added 10 points.
Sam Ewing and Bob Elliott had eight points.
Jeremy Alexander and Ashton Elliot had five points each and William Shell added three points.
