The next legislative session begins Tuesday, and Rep. Alan Baker said the focus will be on something every Alabamian is interested in - the budget.
Baker said he would continue to support programs that have the best interest of senior adults, children and education at heart.
Because of the recession, Baker said some programs may be difficult to fund fully.
Having enough money to go around is a main problem for the budget this year, Baker said.
With Congress considering a stimulus package that includes major spending for education and infrastructure, among other projects, some legislators are waiting to see if they will get more help this year.
Although appropriations bills always begin in the House, they have to go through the Senate for approval.
Baker is a member of House committees on education policy and public safety.
