Mr. Daniel Mark Shockey, 80, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2008, in a local nursing home after an extended illness. He was a native of Louisiana and a long time resident of Brewton. He was a member of Dixonville Baptist Church and a retired machine tendor from Containier Corporation with 19 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Tindell Shockey of Dixonville; two daughters, Dorothy Byron of Louisiana, and Vivian Floyd of Jay, Fla.; a sister, Ester Sistrunk of Louisiana; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Earnie Calhoun and the Rev. Fredrick Barrow officiating. Burial followed at Dixonville Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
