Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008: That was the last time the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers lost a ball game.
Twelve games later has proved no different as the Lady Tigers improved to 19-2 with their 12th straight win as they defeat Flomaton 62-27 Monday night at home.
Four Lady Tigers scored in double figures and the Lady Tigers benefited from a 13-0 run in the second quarter and a 12-0 run in the third quarter to claim the big win.
T.R. Miller outscored Flomaton 31-11 in the second half and Jackson said that time of the game is his Lady Tigers' time.
Senior Kesha Peterson led the Lady Tigers with 15 points in the win. Nakiya Smith followed with 11 points and Leah Brundidge and Ashley Williams both had 10.
Zykeya Barton finished with nine points and MyNetra Boley, Keydra Shedrone and Shaniqua Kiser all had two points.
Janel McCorvey added one point.
The Lady Tigers found themselves in a tight game for the first quarter and a half of the game.
The Lady Tigers led 12-9 after the first quarter and 18-16 at the 5:10 mark of the second quarter before going on a 13-0 run to end the half with a 31-16 lead after a 19-7 advantage in the quarter.
In the third quarter, the Lady Tigers continued on their run and made it a 12-0 run in the quarter while scoring 18 points to Flomaton's five to take a 28-point lead, 49-21, into the fourth quarter of play.
The fourth quarter saw T.R. Miller hold a 13-6 advantage and close the game on a 5-0 run as they claimed the 62-27 win.
T.R. Miller Lady Tigers 46, Monroe County 18
Eleven Lady Tigers scored for T.R. Miller as they cruised to a 28-point win over Monroe County Friday night at home to win 46-18.
The Lady Tigers used a 15-3 first quarter and a 12-2 second quarter to hold a 27-5 lead at the half.
In the second half, T.R. Miller extended their lead to 37-11 after a 10-6 third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Lady Tigers held a 9-7 lead to claim the win and improve to 18-2 with their eleventh straight win.
Williams led the Lady Tigers with 10 points and was followed by Peterson with eight, Barton with seven, McCorvey with five, Shedrone with four, and Kiser with three.
Green, Smith, Brundidge and Boley all had two points in the win and Courtney Jones added eight points.
