Trailing 6-4 in extra innings, the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to capture their first win of the season in their first game  over Central Alabama Community College, 7-6.
In the second game of the double header, JDCC fell to 1-1 with a 5-0 loss to Central Alabama.
JDCC will be back in action on Wednesday against Meridian Community College at home.
Game time is set for 1 p.m. for the first game and game two is set to begin at 3 p.m.
Game one: JDCC 7,
CACC 6
Down by two runs in extra innings, Jessica Morris led the inning off with a double to score tiebreaker runner Megan Denney to cut the score to 6-5.
After the Morris double, a wild pitch advanced Morris who later scored to tie the game at 6-6 after a Central Alabama error.
With one out, Aleah Payne grounded into a fielders choice, but instead of the Central Alabama fielder throwing the ball home to prevent the game-winning run to score, threw to first to get Payne out and the Lady Warhawks won 7-6.
Amber Wilson led JDCC at the plate going 3-for-3. Brittany Cahoon went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Lauren Marshall led with two RBIs in the win for the Lady Warhawks.
Ashleigh Allgood took the win on the mound for JDCC. Allgood went the complete game eight innings and allowed six runs (one earned) on six hits, five walks, and had six strikeouts.
Central Alabama took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning and held that lead until the bottom of the second inning when JDCC struck for three runs to claim a 3-1 lead.
Central Alabama responded with two runs in the top of the first inning to tie the game at 3-3.
JDCC added one run in the bottom of the inning to hold a 4-3 lead, but Central Alabama tied the game at 4-4 with a run in the top of the fourth inning.
Game two: CACC 5, JDCC 0
In game two of the doubleheader, JDCC was held to only two hits and gave up a four-spot in the fourth inning and one run in the fifth inning to drop a 5-0 game.
Carla Ray was the losing pitcher and Ashleigh Allgood went 2-for-2 with a double to lead JDCC at the plate.
Ray went the complete game five innings and allowed five runs (one earned) on six hits, walked one and struck out five in the loss.
