The 2009 Regional Basketball Pairings have been announced for the class 3A girls.
Regionals will be held at Troy Univeristy for the South Regionals, at Alabama State University in Montgomery for the Central Region, at Jacksonsville State University for the Northeast Regional and at Wallace State University in Hanceville for the Northwest Regional.
Winners of the four regionals will advance to the Final Four of the class 3A basektball tournament next week in Birmingham.
Locally, the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers at 22-2 will travel to Troy to take on Headland (14-12) in the first round of the South Regional at Troy,
The winner of that game will advance and take on the winner of the Bayside Academy-Slocomb game on Saturday t 3:40 p.m. in Troy.
Other 3A girls teams still alive for the state championship are Greene County, Montgomery Academy, Sumter County, Montevallo, Crossville, Glencoe, Pisgah, Altamont, Elkmont, West Morgan, Madison Academy and Lauderdale County.
