Mr. George Travis, Jr., 57, died Feb. 6, 2009. He was a native of Brewton and a former resident of New Orleans, La., before moving back to Brewton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Mae Agee Travis, his father, George Travis, two sisters, Cora Lee White and Jacqueline Jones, one brother Roosevelt Travis and a special nephew, Burel Jones, III.
He is survived by three sisters, Eula Culliver, Irene (Joe) Coleman of Brewton, Bertha (Burel) Jones of New Orleans; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Old Springhill Primitive Baptist Church in Brewton with Elder E.J. Williams officiating. Burial followed in the Old Springhill Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
