Mr. Weldon Brice Tabers Sr., 84, of Evans Avenue in Brewton, passed away Feb. 16, 2009 at his home after an extended illness. He was a native of Hamiliton, Texas and had been a resident of Brewton since 1977. He was a retired oil driller and was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II. He attended the East Brewton Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lila Baker Tabers of Brewton; on son, Weldon Brice (Debra) Tabers, Jr., of Brewton; two daughters, Linda (Earl) McCall of Brewton and Peggy (Robert) Coleman of Century, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18,  at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Watts officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
