David William Patterson, 67, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009. He had been a resident of Chicago, Ill., and Moreno Valley, Calif., before moving to Georgiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lula Mae Patterson Sr., and a brother, Fred (Nola) Patterson Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Star Patterson; his children, Terry Scott, Artillia Johnson, Saudia Gordan, Kenyatta Ortega, Voncile Ivy and Hannah Patterson; his sisters, Dorothy Wynder, Joann Tillmon and Rosemary Patterson; a brother, Raymond (Debbie) Patterson; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. at the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Georgiana, with the Rev. Dr. John O. Meeks officiating.
