If you want to “wash that man right outta your hair,” you may be interested in attending one of three performances of the musical “South Pacific.”
The troupe of actors with the Brewton Community Theatre will present the adult-themed musical Mar. 6, 7 and 8 in the Woodfin-Patterson Auditorium on the campus of Jefferson Davis Community College.
Gleaton said the show is set in an island paradise during World War II where two love stores are threatened by prejudice and war.
Major roles in the show include Nellie, Emile, Bloody Mary and Capt. Joe Cable. Portraying Nellie is Kylie Jernigan, with Emile played by her husband, Paul Jernigan. Capt. Joe Cable’s role is played by Perry Jones, with Shakeena Bradley taking on the role of Bloody Mary.
Gleaton said the major roles are accentuated by other portrayals in the show.
Gleaton said parents may want to carefully consider bringing small children to the performance because of some language used in the show.
Performances on Friday and Saturday are set for 7 p.m. The curtains for Sunday’s performance will raise at 2 p.m. Tickets are $7 per person.
