JDCC softball continues losing streak

The losing streak for the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team went to nine games when the Lady Warhawks fell to 1-9 with a doubleheader loss to Central Alabama.
JDCC fell 4-3 in game one and 3-0 in game two to drop their ninth straight game after winning their season opener.
JDCC will be back in action at home on March 10 against Hibbins Community College. Game time is set for 1 and 3 p.m. at Lady Warhawk field in Brewton.
Game one: CACC 4, JDCC 3
Just like in the first game of the season between the Lady Warhawks of JDCC and the Lady Trojans of CACC, the game was decided in extra innings.
With JDCC leading 3-1 after the top of the sixth inning, CACC tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the inning to force extra innings.
In extra innings, CACC scored one run in the bottom of the eighth inning and claim a 4-3 win over the Lady Warhawks.
Ashleigh Allgood took the loss on the mound for JDCC. Allgood went the complete game and allowed one earned run, on five hits, walked three and struck out four.
Aleah Payne led JDCC at the plate. Payne was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a triple.
Allgood was 2-for-3 and Kristin Myers was 1-for-3.
Sarah Huggins was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Lauren Marshall was 1-for-4.
Game two: CACC 3, JDCC 0
In game two at Central Alabama, JDCC was shutout and dropped a 3-0 decision to fall to 1-9 with their ninth straight loss.
Carla Ray took the loss on the mound for JDCC. Ray went the complete game six innings and allowed one earned run on seven hits, struck out three and walked none in the loss.
Jessica Morris and Amber Wilson were both 2-for-3 in the loss and had JDCC’s only hits.
CACC scored one run in the third inning and two in the fifth to claim the three-run win.
